The plaza and the atrium not only add interest to the building but ensure the connectivity within the Retail Area and Visual Connectivity from the Street

The partial community retail center is designed around a scooped in plaza leading into the atrium. The plaza helps to bring in the people by creating an interesting shaded terrace green space – a respite  from the busy streets for people to hang out.

Project Conception

Carving out the atrium, Chip Mong Baktouk Center is our first mixed-use, steel structure building. It contains details on the lower 3 levels, commercial office on the top 4 levels, and a roof terrace overlooking the bustling neighborhood.

The plaza and the atrium not only add interest to the building but ensure the connectivity within the retail area and visual connectivity from the street; thus, contributing to more viable retail spaces.

Architectural Design Concept

The all steel structure is designed to expose the dark framing and reflect its industrial modernity. The overall façade is designed to vary in forms, voids, and shading frames in order to create interesting depth and shadow that can be seen from the street.
